What is Kickboxing?

​

Kickboxing is a combat sport that combines elements of traditional boxing with kicking techniques from martial arts such as Karate & Muay Thai. It typically involves two opponents striking each other using punches, kicks, and sometimes knee strikes, depending on the specific rules of the match. Kickboxing can be practiced as a sport, for self-defense, or as a fitness activity. It emphasizes agility, power, endurance, and discipline.

Kickboxing+ with Dynamic Combat

 

Kickboxing+ is for those who are looking to learn striking techniques in a private setting following a personalized training plan. Kickboxing+ is bringing together techniques from Boxing, Karate, Muay Thai, giving each client a solid foundation of striking for self protection. Kickboxing+ is basically taking most of the striking techniques from the Krav Maga program and teaching it to those who just want to learn how to strike. Clients learn real self-defense skills, while getting a really good workout. If you have some inner aggression you want to get out, Kickboxing+ can definitely help with that. 

 

Both the Adult (14 yrs +) and the Youth (7-13 yrs old) programs follow a similar general training outline, however each client gets a personalized training plan which allows everyone to progress at their own pace. No judgement, just a lot of hard but good training, and even some laughter here and there. Clients learn to use punches, kicks, elbows, knees, hammer strikes, defensive movements, and so much more. Mobility/stretching exercises are often included at the beginning and/or at the end of the training session, and per client's request, conditioning exercises can be added into the mix.

​As a workout method, striking is unlike any other types of training, and it can definitely help burn those stubborn calories. Let me be clear, striking is not better than other methods of training, it just has a different kind of impact on the body. It can also be combined with other methods of training (for example Kettlebell training) to help you achieve your goals while keeping things fresh. First learn some good fundamentals, as proper technique is a must, and then the sky is the limit.

All new clients receive a free introductory training session which can be scheduled by phone @ 847-997-5074. During this training session we will discuss goals and a path towards your goals, and we will do a basic training which will hopefully give you a little better idea on what to expect moving forward.  â€‹â€‹â€‹

Gear/Equipment Requirements

​

  • comfortable clothes for training, with no shoes on; no loose clothes and no clothes with zippers.

  • new clients will just need a pair of Boxing Gloves.

  • at a later time clients will also need a pair of Shin Guards.

  • for safety reasons, clients should remove jewelry before training, keep their nails trimmed and hair out pulled up.
